Heyyy bestie. Today, I’ll be reviewing a product I really enjoyed using, probably one of my favourite sunscreens so far, the Bioré UV watery gel sunscreen!
I feel like every skincare enthusiast is a sunscreen advocate and I’m not any different because sunscreen is super important and makes a whole lot of difference (you can read about my first experience with using sunscreen here). That said, I’m always on the look out for good sunscreens (absorbent with minimal white cast and maximum protection) I can try and also recommend.
I had been seeing another variant of this sunscreen everywhere, particularly the Bioré UV watery essence so I when I came across the Bioré UV watery gel, I knew I had to give it a try and share my experience with you. Stay with me!

From the ingredient list, you can see that it contains key ingredients like hyaluronic acid (Sodium Hyaluronate) which is great for hydration, Glyceryl Stearate which acts as a skin lubricant giving the skin a smooth appearance and Royal Jelly Extract which is known for its anti-ageing properties. This easily makes up for its alcohol content which has a drying effect. It is also said to be water/sweat resistant for up to 80 minutes.
Product packaging, texture and consistency
It comes in a small plastic container (as shown in the pictures) with a narrow tip for easy application.
The sunscreen itself is cream in colour and has a light, runny consistency which blends easily into the skin and won’t clog your pores and cause acne breakouts – particularly a joy for my oily skin girlies!

My Experience with the Bioré UV watery gel
In my opinion, this is one of those sunscreens that encourage you to be consistent with sunscreen usage. It feels so good on the skin (maybe because of the alcohol content?) and it is also blends in well as it glides into the skin easily leaving little to no evidence of its application (no obvious white cast). It also isn’t greasy at all but leaves the skin feeling cool and with a subtle glow making it a joy to use daily.
Like I mentioned earlier, the Bioré UV watery gel is also sweat and waterproof so you don’t have to worry too much about using it when going for a swim or during a very hot weather when you’re more likely to sweat.
It also didn’t cause any irritation on my skin throughout the period I was using it.
Overall I’d say I had a great experience using this product.
Pros
- Provides UVA and UVB protection (SPF 50 PA ++++)
- Absorbs into the skin easily
- Doesn’t leave an obvious white cast
- Not greasy
- Sweat and waterproof
Cons
- Contains alcohol
- Might not be a preferred option for very dry skin
- For a skin like finish, the Bioré UV watery essence may be better
Verdict
Absolutely enjoyed using the Bioré UV watery gel. I’ll give it a solid 8/10 the value it offers for a relatively affordable price compared to the more expensive sunscreens out there. I believe this sunscreen by Bioré is 100% worth buying and will work well for you no matter your skin type.
